7 must try ingredients in your next smoothies

Time's are hard right now.

Getting the appropriate nutrition when you are stuck at home ... is not always so easy, especially when going to a grocery store means long line-ups and a mini anxiety attack.

But that doesn't mean you should forget about your health!

Making sure to stay fit, healthy and eating healthy is absolutely key right now, and needs to be on the top of your priority list!

So we compiled a small list of a few ingredients that we found are super advantageous for you because of their many health benefits, and hopefully you have some of them lying around your house (if not, try to get some!)

Full of fiber and antioxidants, these little guys are packed with Manganese (a mineral that is critical for your bone health). So if you're feeling like your bones are aching lately, or your back is hurting, try to incorporate them into your daily diet. If possible, aim to buy wild blueberries as they tend to taste the best.

Possible smoothie suggestion:

  • Milk (any is fine, preferable almond or oat)

  • ½ cup of blueberries

  • ⅓ cup of cottage cheese

  • Some spinach

  • Pinch of flax seed

  • Maple syrup to taste

  • And a sprinkle of cinnamon

Combine in a blender and enjoy!

It might not taste the best, especially by itself, but it really does add a lot to your smoothie in terms of a “kick", but also in calming your stomach!

Ginger has also been proven to help with reducing your muscles built up lactic acid post training, so if you are hitting those home workouts hard right now, just a few grams of ginger a day can really help with your recovery!

Possible smoothie suggestion:

  • Milk (any is fine, preferable almond or oat)

  • ½ cup of preferred protein powder

  • 2 teaspoons of cut ginger

  • Lime zest

  • Ice

Combine in a blender and enjoy!

Vitamin A for days! This orange goddess of a vegetable is critical to not only your overall health, but also improves your eyesight and your skin! Did we mention it boosts your immune system too ?! We are big fans if you can't tell, and honestly, most people have carrots in their house already, so why not use them in different ways!

Possible smoothie suggestion:

  • ⅓ cup of orange juice

  • ½ banana

  • ⅓ cup of pineapple

  • ½ cup of Greek yogurt

  • ¼ cup chopped carrots

  • Lots of ice!

Combine in a blender and enjoy!

Hopefully you were able to gather a little bit of knowledge in this post, and maybe will get a chance to try out one of these recipes above!

Hope you are staying safe, and healthy!
